Although Sacks Morasha is a voluntary-aided school, the funding that we receive from the London Borough of Barnet falls far short of our financial needs and, in common with many other Faith schools and a number of non-Faith schools, we need to seek donations each term from parents to cover a range of costs that are not covered by the Local Authority.
The trustees are mindful of the financial pressures on parents, and the suggested level of donation is £1,500 per child per term. This amount includes tax relief that we can currently claim on personal donations so that if donations are made with a Gift Aid declaration, the suggested donation by parents is £1,200 per child per term. This is because we are able to claim Gift Aid of £300 (which is the amount of Gift Aid that HMRC will pay to the charity on a donation of £1,200) and thus the charity receives a gross donation of £1,500.
Your donations can be made to Finchley Jewish Primary School Trust (the registered charity that supports the school) in a number of ways:
Personal Bank Account
A donation from your personal bank account of £1,200 per term, together with a signed Gift Aid form. You may wish to make donations as a single amount each year, each term or by monthly standing order.
If you wish to make a donation by cheque, please make it payable to ‘Finchley Jewish Primary School Trust’ and send it to the school office at Sacks Morasha. If you wish to donate directly by bank transfer or by standing order, our bank account details are:
Finchley Jewish Primary School Trust
Lloyds Bank
Account Number: 03157134
Sort code: 30-94-47
Business Bank Account
A donation from a business bank account, charitable trust or a charity voucher of £1,500 per child per term. Again, this can be given as a single donation each year or term, or by a monthly standing order.
If you wish to donate by cheque, please make it payable to ‘Finchley Jewish Primary School Trust’ and send it to the school office. If you wish to donate directly or by standing order, our bank account details are as above.
Please note that we are not able to claim Gift Aid on donations from business bank accounts, charitable trusts or charity vouchers. Regrettably, we are also unable to accept CAF (Charity Aid Foundation) Vouchers.
Online donations
If you prefer, donations can also be made by credit or debit card online.
Whilst there is no obligation to make any donation (and pupils at the school will not be treated differently according to whether or not their parents have made any contribution), we entirely depend on these parental contributions to ensure that the school can continue to provide the excellent level of provision so that each and every child’s needs can be met.
I therefore ask that you make every effort to please make your donation as soon as possible – for the benefit of the school and all our pupils.
If you have any queries or would like to discuss voluntary contributions further, please feel free to contact me on [email protected] or call 07970 482880.
I am sure you will agree that we can only provide such a high level of provision for our children if everyone plays their part in contributing towards these extra costs.
Thank you once again for your support.
Yours sincerely,
Rob Gershon
Treasurer, Finchley Jewish Primary School Trust
