On Monday morning Sacks Morasha held a special Tefillah service led by Honorary Principal, Rabbi Jeremy Lawrence and included teachers, pupils and almost 100 parents via zoom, to join together in light of the loss we are all sharing on the incredibly sad news of the untimely passing of Emeritus Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks (HaRav Ya’akov Zvi ben David Arieh z’tl).
As part of this commemorative service, readings were given in Rabbi Sacks’ memory led by founding parents of the school. We were fortunate that he visited our school on many occasions and on each visit he passed on his wisdom and insights to our pupils and teachers. Sacks Morasha feel truly honoured that the school bears the ‘Sacks’ name and know that his inspiring words and teachings will continue to enlighten our pupils for many years to come.
These pictures are from 2013 when we welcomed Rabbi Sacks, then Chief Rabbi to our new building to officially open the school and put up our Mezuzah. The photos of that day remain on view in our entrance hall.

Our year 6 show is always something special for the children and their parents to watch and is a milestone that we didn’t want the children to miss out on. This year the children were lucky to have a different production experience as they were filmed by Blend Video and their crew who all helped to give the children a wonderful day. Here is a taster of them in action. We are sure the final edit will be fantastic.
Year 6 pupils have been busy this week helping elderly relatives, producing baked treats for residents of Jewish care homes, running bake sales and even washing their teachers cars!! These initiatives are all part of the school’s ‘Morasha cares’ week which encourages their pupils to take on a caring activity which reaches out either to the community, families or the environment. The initiative reflects the ethics and morals that the school teach them to uphold through secondary school and beyond.
