Minister’s praise for outstanding achievement
We’re very proud to report that Sacks Morasha recently received a letter from Nick Gibb MP, Minister of State for School Standards, congratulating pupils on their outstanding achievement in the 2016 phonics screening check. Mr Gibb said: “With 100 per cent of pupils at Sacks Morasha Jewish Primary School reaching or exceeding the pass mark in the check, your school is in the top 3 per cent of all primary schools in the country”.
Shabbat UK activities
We have had a fantastic time in school this week as we all gear up to celebrate Shabbat UK over the weekend of 11-12 November.
On Tuesday 8 November, children in Years 4 and 5 went to a Shabbat UK concert which was attended by many of the Jewish schools in the country. Year 6 enjoyed a havdallah workshop on the Shabbat UK bus too, run by GIFT. On Wednesday 9 November, children participated in a wide range of activities from challah making, candlestick making to Kiddushcup making and making challah plates.
