Two trees
You may have noticed the two trees 🌳🌳 standing outside the school yesterday. One tree was planted by the Israeli Embassy Diplomat Jenny Sedov and the other was a surprise for Mrs Gross to commemorate all her years at Sacks Morasha. The trees will be planted in the ground once the new building work has been completed. Thanks to Rabbi Lawrence.
Sacks Morasha welcomed Jenny Sedov
Sacks Morasha were delighted to welcome Jenny Sedov, Head of Civil Society Affairs at the Israeli Embassy in the UK to meet its pupils and staff. Jenny’s role at the Embassy is to strengthen the relations between actors in the civil society sphere including Local Government, Academia, third sector and trade unions.
Sacks Morasha were very proud to host Jenny who was given a tour of the school by Year 6 students. Each class had prepared songs which were performed at an assembly as well as a question and answer session lead by the children where questions ranged from ‘What do you think of the covid vaccine?’ to ‘Where is your favourite place in Israel?’.
Jenny was also given the honour of planting a tree, along with student council members, to commemorate the visit. The tree will be planted on the recently acquired land which the school are in the early stages of developing.
Morasha Cares Week 2021
June 7th 2021 marked the start of our incredible Morasha Cares Week.
Each class started by researching their chosen charity. On day one Reception and Year 1 made gorgeous cards for the children in Camp Simcha and Great Ormand Street Hospital. Year 2 made their own clay hearts whilst learning about the British Heart Foundation. Year 3 made their own songs to cheer children up for Rays of Sunshine. Year 4 made colourful posters all about the Yoni Jesner Foundation and Year 5 had a great day dressed all in yellow learning about the charity Young Minds.
The week also included bake sales, washing teachers cars, and a skipathon.
Lag B’omer 2021 outings
We were so pleased to be able to run our school outings for Lag B’omer this year. Reception were ecstatic when the petting zoo arrived in our playground and had a fun afternoon baking cupcakes for their teddy bears picnic. Year 1 visited London zoo, years 2 & 3 went all the way to LegoLand, years 4 & 5 had a great day at Go Ape and year 6 were thrilled to go to Chessington.
