Pupil Blog: Football Tournament

Friday 26 May, 2017 | Pupil Blog

Sacks Morasha pupils are writing regular blog posts on a variety of topics. Read previous entries here. This week’s post is by Rachel Lewis and Ellie Marantz:

On Wednesday, some year 6 girls participated in the summer term Maccabi football tournament. We were in group three and played Hertsmere A, Kerem A, Naima B, Independent B and Beit Shvidler A. We were very pleased with our results: two wins, two draws and one loss. This put us second in our group, but we didn’t quite do enough to qualify to the quarter finals.

Our team did very well, we only conceded two goals and we scored three. We all (Adela, Maia, Elisheva, Ellie, Jasmine, Rachel and our spectator, Erin) really enjoyed the experience and are sad that our football tournaments are finished in our time at Morasha.

Pupil Blog: Yom Ha’Atzmaut

Friday 5 May, 2017 | Pupil Blog

Sacks Morasha pupils are writing regular blog posts on a variety of topics. Read previous entries here. This week’s post is by Rafaela Golding and Devora Lawrence:

On Tuesday the second of May, it was Yom Ha’Atzmaut and we did special activities. Some of the special activities were Israeli dancing, making keyrings with GIFT, writing poems about Israel, making collages of pictures of Israel and for some years, making t-shirts or cupcakes. Of course, ending with the big highlight of everyone’s Yom Ha’Atzmaut, the talent show!

The talent show is when all students get to show their talent – about Yom Ha’Atzmaut in a variety of ways. Some of these varieties include animations, singing, drawing or playing an instrument. Not only that, but we had delicious lunch to match. We had Israeli salad with falafel and a side of chips. It was an amazing lunch for an amazing day. We are very thankful to Mr Kett and Mrs Gross for this special day!

We had a magical time in school celebrating Israel’s birthday. Children decorated t-shirts, made cupcakes, participated in Israeli dancing and joined in with a workshop run by GIFT. They enjoyed a traditional Israeli lunch, followed by the school’s ‘Israel Has Talent’ Contest, whereby a number of children in KS2 shared a variety of talents with the whole school. A fantastic day was had by all.

Yom HaZikaron

Monday 1 May, 2017 | Uncategorised

We commemorated Yom HaZikaron in school on Friday due to the Bank Holiday Monday. We collaborated with UJIA Magic Moments and had a visit from a number of Israeli teenagers who live in the Northern parts of Israel and shared their experiences of living on the borders. They also played games and led arts and crafts sessions with the younger children in the school.
