The community came together for the annual Sacks Morasha and Kinloss Shul Chanukah Wonderland. It was filled with delicious doughnuts and lovely latkas as well as games, crafts, bouncy castles, face painting and much more. The atmosphere was incredible and it definitely got everyone into the Chanukah spirit! Special thanks to the committee for all of your hard work.
On Wednesday afternoon, Year 5 and 6 boys from Morasha competed in the first Maccabi Football tournament. Both Morasha teams did very well.
Morasha A which included Rafi, Asher, Liad, Noah, Alex and Joey lost their first game narrowly but went on to win their next four games and storm into the quarter finals.
Morasha B which included Amitai, Ikey, Asher, Koby, Elijah and Boaz had some mixed results – winning two and drawing one. This meant that there was a penalty shootout against Matlida Marks to clinch the last quarter final place. Despite missing their first penalty, Morasha B won their shootout 3-2. Morasha B unfortunately were to lose narrowly 1-0 in the quarter finals, but it was a brilliant effort from the side.
Morasha A won their quarter final match before losing to a late goal in the semi finals. Both Morasha teams did their coaches and school very proud, showing great sportsmanship throughout.
Asher (Y6), Amitai (Y6) and Ilan (Y3) were very proud to march in the national AJEX (Association for Jewish Ex-Servicemen) Parade today. After they marched, they met Rabbi Major Reuben Livingstone (Jewish chaplain to HM Forces).
Our School Council performed a short skit this morning demonstrating an example of behaviour that would qualify for our new ‘Mitzvah of the Week’ certificate – we hope there will be lots of mitzvot to celebrate in the Goldstein-Sacker household… and everyone else’s too! We look forward to hearing about them! Shabbat Shalom!
