In June this year, we celebrated 10 years of Sacks Morasha Jewish Primary School. Here are some video highlights of the anniversary dinner:
Lag Ba’Omer and Kingswood trips
Every class celebrated Lag Ba’Omer last month with special outings – including treetop adventures at Go Ape!
After finishing their SATs tests, Year 6 went on a residential trip to Kingswood activity centre, where they worked in teams, overcame some fears and had fantastic new experiences, getting them ready for life beyond Sacks Morasha. They continue their full programme of special activities, trips and communal work in the coming month, as well as preparing for their production of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’! Yom Hazikaron to Yom Ha’atzmaut 5778
Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut were memorably commemorated at school. Thanks to all the staff, visitors, PTA, volunteers and of course the students for making this year’s Yom Hazikaron so meaningful and for celebrating Israel’s 70th birthday in such fantastic style. Students quiz Lord Sacks at dinner raising over £150k
Thanks to the hard work of Howard Josephs, Ben Tenenblat and their teams, a dinner to celebrate our tenth anniversary raised over £150,000, which will go towards the second phase of the school’s premises. Guests were treated to a live question-and-answer session between Lord Sacks and four recent alumni: Ella Goldstein (now at Haberdashers’ Girls), Eli Haffner (Haberdashers’ Boys), Adina Kut (JfS) and Aron Yona (Hasmonean Boys). Our guest of honour was Founding Honorary Principal, Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis. There was also a fabulous performance by the school choir.
Exciting outcome from Ofsted visit
Following the standard one-day inspection by Ofsted on 30 January 2018, we received a letter on 4 March confirming that our school was maintaining its ‘Good’ rating. This was the best outcome we could obtain at this time, given Ofsted’s new system. However, in a fantastic addition, Ofsted recommended the school now has a full inspection as they recognise Sacks Morasha is on its journey to being Outstanding. We anticipate a full two-day inspection soon. See the full letter.
